Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an MRI Technologist (Evening Shift) for a top ** healthcare** client in ** Roanoke, VA **.

This role performs high-quality MRI exams across a diverse patient population, ensuring safe imaging practices, accurate documentation, and compassionate care. The technologist will operate advanced MRI equipment, administer IV contrast as required, and collaborate with providers and staff to support timely, patient-centered diagnostics.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI exams per protocol; ensure image quality and patient/staff safety.
  • Evaluate and position patients; maintain a calm, reassuring presence in high-stress situations.
  • Administer IV contrast and monitor for reactions per policy.
  • Maintain sterile/clean technique, equipment readiness, and room turnover standards.
  • Complete scheduling, registration, documentation, and PACS worklist tasks accurately.
  • Participate in clinical education for students/new staff and maintain required CEUs for accreditation.
  • Adhere to all regulatory standards, MRI safety zones, and patient safety goals.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma/GED and graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Experience

  • MRI experience preferred (not required); CPR/BLS required.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Certified/registered by **ARRT in MRI **, or ARRT/NMTCB/ARDMS with eligibility for ARRT(MR) per ARRT requirements (must complete advanced MRI certification within 1 year if hired after May 1, 2014).
  • AHA BLS required; MRI certificate accepted.

Skills or Competencies

  • Excellent patient communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with MRI safety, IV starts/contrast, and EMR/PACS workflows.
  • Ability to lift/stand and work safely around infectious/hazardous materials.
