I. Purpose of this Position:

The Day School is seeking a joyful, faith-filled Music Teacher to join our team. This individual will play a meaningful role in nurturing young children through music, movement, and in a loving, Christ-centered environment.


II. Results/Impact of this Position:

  • Implement a biblically-integrated age appropriate music curriculum
  • Lead students in joyful worship, teaching fundamental musical concepts through play, and coordinating seasonal performances that reflect the school’s mission
  • Maintaining desired school culture


III. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead engaging weekly music activities for children ages Infants through Kindergarten incorporating songs, rhythm, and movement
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and enhance curriculum
  • Foster a warm, positive, and Christ-centered classroom environment
  • Maintain a well-organized music classroom with materials ready for daily use
  • Operate basic sound and lighting equipment for music activities and programs
  • Lead and coordinate two school-wide services each year
  • Follow all licensing requirements, including annual training, CPR/First Aid certification, and Texas Minimum Standards

IV. Skills, Traits and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a preschool, kindergarten, or elementary setting preferred
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to instruct and manage students
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills


VI. Time Commitment:

  • Position is full-time with occasional prolonged or irregular hours
  • Teacher is required to be on campus for all scheduled classes


VII. Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Occasional lifting up to 50 lb.
