Somerville House OSHClub is seeking an inspiring and motivated OSHC Assistant Coordinator to join our growing Helping Hands service.     About Somerville House 

    Somerville House offers a unique opportunity to lead an OSHC service within a highly regarded all-girls private school, where children’s wellbeing and quality education are at the heart of the community. Licensed for 60 children, with exciting opportunities for growth, the service benefits from strong partnerships with the school, creating a seamless and supportive experience for children and families. With two dedicated OSHC rooms and access to a shared outdoor space, you'll have the resources and environment to deliver a high-quality, engaging program.

    Your Schedule

    This is a permanent, part-time role (25 hours per week) working across split shifts, Monday to Friday. 

    Service hours include:

    • Rise Then Shine: 6:30am – 9:00am
    • Stay and Play: 2:30pm – 6:00pm
    • School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am – 6:00pm

    About your new role

    As an Assistant Coordinator, you’ll help lead a team of passionate Educators and oversee an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership: 

    • Design and help lead a vibrant, child‑centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
    • Assist with rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration.
    • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
    • Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
    • Be supported by an experienced Coordinator and Regional Manager, so you’re never doing it alone.

    Qualifications

    Who are we looking for? 

    We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have: 

    • Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
    • National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)  
    • Enjoys working with children and making a positive impact  
    • Communicates clearly and confidently  
    • Works well in a team and aspires to grow into a leadership role  
    • Holds (or is willing to obtain) a National Police Check and a Working with Children check  
    • Has Australian work rights
