The Role:

Lucanet is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our cross‑functional team in Romania. You will play a crucial role in our transformation into a cloud-native, GenAI-fueled SaaS platform by augmenting our existing software engineering capabilities. In this role, you will utilize your technical expertise to design and build core platform services within the Lucanet ecosystem. This is an opportunity to work in an agile environment using cutting-edge technologies, including AI-based coding assistants like Cloud Code and Cursor to shape the future of our financial software solutions.

What you'll do:

• Design and Implementation: Design and implement scalable core platform services that integrate seamlessly into the Lucanet ecosystem.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, QA, Architecture, Delivery, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• End-to-End Ownership: Own the quality of your code through a Developer-Led Testing (DLT) mode, which includes writing unit, integration, contract, and e2e tests
• AI-Driven Development: Pair-program daily with AI tools (Claude Code/Cursor) to implement features, refactor code, and accelerate development while remaining accountable for the final output's correctness and security.
• Deployment and Troubleshooting: Test, deploy, and maintain software solutions while identifying and troubleshooting issues in a timely manner

What you bring to the table

• Technical Proficiency: Strong backend engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Java; experience with Python, NodeJS, or TypeScript is a significant plus.
• Real-world experience working with AWS services in production environments, such as API Gateway, AWS Lambda, DyanmoDB, IAM
• Proven ownership of infrastructure setup and configuration, not just application deployment—comfortable building and managing the systems your apps run on
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to design, provision, and manage cloud environments
• Practical understanding of AWS beyond basic deployments (e.g. not limited to running containerized apps on EC2/ECS/Kubernetes without owning the underlying infrastructure)
