The Processing Lead guides the Processing department in the trimming of flower and primary and secondary packaging of cannabis-based medicines.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Perform mechanical and hand bucking of cannabis biomassAccurate weighing and labeling of biomass on racks and storage binsPerform drying and curing duties as directedPerform mechanical and hand trimming of cannabis flowerPerform mechanical and hand packaging of cannabis flowerPackage cannabis flower by weightAssemble primary, secondary, or tertiary packaging for all Cannabis productsPerform primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging of Cannabis productsPrint and apply labels to finish packaged productResponsible for light to medium maintenance of automated equipment including cleaning and preventative maintenanceOperate, maintain, and clean processing, packaging, and labeling equipmentData Entry and record-keeping of all information pertinent to the traceability of medical cannabisFollow all site Safety requirements including use of PPE; Safety meetings as requiredPerform other functions as necessary to provide an adequate supply of products to meet patient demandConduct counts of packaging/labeling materialsProvide feedback to improve process quality and efficiencyAdheres to a rigorous production schedule and works to ensure products is processed in an accurate and timely mannerAdhere to strict sanitation practices throughout the facilityOther tasks, as determined by the Director of Processing, to ensure the smooth operation of the facilityTrain new Processing Technicians Sets the pace of the Processing department to ensure supply is met Ensure traceability logs are in compliance Review Chain of Custody logs Maintain a clean and safe working environment Troubleshoottrimming equipment Review scheduling of machinery and resources Maintain and update work instructions
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required One year of experience in horticulture or related fieldrequired Associate or bachelor's degree in any Horticulture preferred Excellent computer, mathematical, language and reasoning skills General computer ability Previous experience in medical cannabis industry (preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks Frequently sitting and walking Occasionally Twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl The ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication may be required. Sitting or standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Some heavy lifting may be required. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment and manual tools Must be comfortable operating and troubleshooting trimming, batching, and sorting equipment.
