About this role

About the Role

Join a Series A fintech startup on a mission to help everyday consumers better manage their financial future. As a Product Engineer, you'll build features end-to-end that optimize taxes, bridge paychecks, and build credit — directly improving the financial wellbeing of a growing base of paying users. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business leaders to ship high-impact work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

What You'll Do

  • Build product features end-to-end, including domain models, business logic, and API integrations.

  • Drive deployment and iteration through data-driven, incremental releases toward bold product milestones.

  • Leverage robust data pipelines and analytics infrastructure — using SQL and other tools — to evaluate product and system performance.

  • Debug complex state machines in an event-driven backend using pub/sub to ensure a seamless consumer experience.

  • Ship to production daily via a rapid CI/CD process, owning implementations end-to-end and responding to production incidents as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Required: Hands-on experience with Go (Golang) deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Required: Direct consumer product experience — you've built products for end consumers, not exclusively B2B.

  • Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs, including authentication/authorization patterns and rate limiting.

  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including data modeling and query optimization.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing, and code review processes.

  • Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) for scalable data pipelines.

  • Strong CS fundamentals.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Startup experience preferred; open to candidates from larger tech companies with the right mindset.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $120,000 – $200,000 USD annually, depending on experience.

  • Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

This is an on-site role based in San Francisco, CA. Candidates must be willing to work from the office.
