AGENCIFY · CAAVA GROUP JOB DESCRIPTION
Product Engineering Lead
Strong Technical Lead today. Product Engineering Leader tomorrow.
ROLE PROFILE
REPORTS TO Head of Growth & Operations, Agencify
FUNCTIONAL GUIDANCE Group CTO Office — engineering standards, architecture and release governance
WORKS CLOSELY WITH Product, Engineering, QA, Support, Sales Operations, Customer Success and Growth
ROLE TYPE Hands-on technical leadership with a defined path into product and engineering ownership
GROWTH PATH Product Engineering Manager / Head of Product Engineering
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Agencify is in a stabilisation and growth phase, and commercial momentum depends on a platform that delivers reliable insurer and agent journeys, predictable releases, and fast resolution of recurring issues. The Product Engineering Lead sits between business and technology — leading day-to-day technical execution while translating growth and operational priorities into disciplined engineering plans. It is built for a strong Technical Lead ready to broaden into product prioritisation, roadmap execution and cross-functional leadership without stepping away from delivery.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Hands-on Technical Leadership
Set technical direction on design, implementation
and integration, and review critical decisions and
code quality.
Act as the escalation point for complex production
and delivery issues.
Mentor engineers and raise discipline while staying
hands-on in critical work.
2. Sprint & Delivery Discipline
Own sprint planning, execution tracking, reviews
and retrospectives.
Ensure work is well-defined, estimated and
assigned, removing blockers and driving
accountability.
Improve predictability and throughput against
realistic capacity.
3. Release Readiness & Governance
Ensure every release has QA evidence, business
validation, rollback, monitoring and support
readiness.
Apply group engineering standards, architecture
guidance and release controls.
Reduce deployment incidents and surface release
risks before production.
4. Production Stability & Trust Recovery
Own the technical response to recurring customer,
agent and insurer issues with root-cause fixes.
Improve monitoring and operational visibility on
critical journeys.
Cut manual interventions and repeat incidents via a
clear production-health backlog.
5. Partner Integration Reliability
Monitor transaction success, failure and latency
across insurer and third-party integrations.
Separate Agencify defects from external (insurer /
payment) failures and escalate with evidence.
Improve reconciliation, posting and end-to-end
transaction confidence.
6. Product Execution Support
Translate business priorities into user stories and
acceptance criteria.
Challenge unclear requirements and surface
technical trade-offs early.
Prioritise on impact, value, effort and risk using
production and support data.
7. Cross-functional Alignment
Partner with the Head of Growth & Operations to
align delivery with commercial priorities.
Coordinate Product, Engineering, QA, Support,
Sales Operations and Customer Success to resolve
issues end-to-end.
Give concise visibility on progress, risks and
decisions needed.
SUCCESS & KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Success in the first six months means a steady weekly delivery rhythm, the most damaging recurring issues owned and reduced, and the successful candidate taking on growing product ownership without losing technical credibility—measured by:
AREA METRIC INITIAL EXPECTATION
Delivery Sprint predictability Improving toward 80–85%
Stability Repeat critical incidents Material downward trend
Release quality Release readiness compliance Consistently applied
Customer trust Repeat escalations Material reduction
Integrations Transaction success rate Baseline established and improving
Operations Posting and reconciliation backlog Visible burn-down
Product execution Roadmap delivery Commitments are realistic and current
REQUIRED PROFILE
- 5–8 years in software engineering, including 2+ years as a Technical Lead, Team Lead or senior engineer leading delivery.
- Strong hands-on engineering background with current technical credibility.
- Experience leading a squad or delivery stream in a customer-facing production environment.
- Solid grounding in APIs, integrations and distributed or service-based systems.
- Experience with Product, Support, Operations or commercial stakeholders, including backlog refinement and acceptance criteria.
- SaaS, FinTech, InsurTech, payments, marketplaces or integration-heavy platform experience preferred.
GROWTH INTO THE ROLE
- Wants ownership beyond engineering execution and can frame customer and business problems, not just technical ones.
- Makes practical trade-offs between speed, quality, stability and business value.
- Willing to grow into product prioritisation and roadmap ownership.
- Influences stakeholders without relying on executive authority — with potential to become Product Engineering Manager or Head of Product Engineering as Agencify scales.
Interested and qualified candidates are invited to submit their applications on or before 1st July 2026.
