AECOM is actively seeking a Project Manager, Bridges for our Ottawa, ON office. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with project team members and internal/external clients. They will demonstrate a high level of initiative, energy, and enthusiasm for delivering successful project outcomes. The successful candidate will support and lead the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on bridge engineering and related structures.
We are looking for a Civil Engineer with a structural specialty in bridges, dams, retaining walls, marine structures, and/or movable bridges.
This is a newly created role.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and deliver bridge and structural engineering projects from planning through detailed design and construction support.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate activities between internal disciplines, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Review and oversee engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final contract documents.
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client relationship management, and project planning.
- Monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct and oversee structural assessments, inspections, rehabilitation, and design assignments.
- Ensure overall data quality, technical accuracy, and project document integrity.
- Implement and oversee quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Identify project risks and ensure engineering-related issues are promptly communicated and resolved.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design documentation, specifications, and contract deliverables.
- Support construction administration activities, including site inspections, documentation of site conditions, equipment and material installations, quantity verification, and contractor coordination.
- Ensure deficiencies are addressed and corrected prior to acceptance of the work.
- Mentor and develop junior staff while contributing to the growth of the Alternative Delivery practice.
- Support the delivery of projects for municipal, provincial, and federal clients across Eastern Ontario and the National Capital Region.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in bridge engineering, including design, assessment, rehabilitation, and project delivery.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of experience in bridge engineering and project management.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software.
- Proficiency with MIDAS Civil.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D design software.
- Eligibility for professional registration in Québec is considered an asset.
- French language skills are considered an asset.
