Ramp Agent

BermudAir is hiring a proactive Ramp Agent to enhance our ground operations. This vital role involves executing aircraft turnaround tasks, managing baggage and cargo, and ensuring the safe operation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain full compliance with all Company and Airport Quality, Safety, Security, and Customer Service standards, consistently following documented procedures and reporting any non-conformances or hazards.
• Verify that all required licenses, permits, airport IDs, and driving authorizations are current and valid at the start of each shift, and immediately report any discrepancies, expiries, or restrictions to a supervisor.
• Attend all pre-flight and shift briefings, actively participate in safety discussions, and help enforce ramp safety protocols, including PPE use, safe walkways, equipment parking rules, and no-smoking policies.
• Operate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) such as belt loaders, tugs, dollies, and GPUs in a safe and efficient manner; complete required pre-use inspections, record any defects, and perform basic troubleshooting or remove equipment from service when unsafe.
• Load and unload baggage, mail, and cargo efficiently and accurately, ensuring items are correctly tagged, handled with care, and stowed in accordance with load plans, weight and balance limits, dangerous goods rules, and any special handling requirements (e.g., priority, fragile, oversize, live animals).
• Marshal ground service equipment safely and efficiently, and handle oversized baggage in accordance with company and airport procedures.
• Conduct regular ramp FOD (Foreign Object Debris) inspections, promptly removing and reporting any hazards to ensure a safe, clean, and compliant operating environment around the aircraft.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar airport or ground handling role (e.g. ramp agent, baggage handler, GSE operator), with proven exposure to aircraft turnarounds, baggage/cargo handling, and ramp safety procedures.
• Clean criminal record and meeting airport security vetting and background check requirements.
• Successful completion of secondary education (high school diploma or equivalent).
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with at least one (1) year of driving experience, demonstrating safe driving habits suitable for obtaining and holding airside driving permits where required.
• Physically fit and able to work safely in a fast-paced outdoor environment in all weather conditions, including regularly lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy loads; prior experience operating heavy or motorized ground equipment (e.g., tugs, belt loaders, forklifts) is preferred.
