Position Summary
NBCC is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program at our Mount Holly location. This position provides direct nursing care and medication services to individuals receiving treatment for opioid use disorder and related behavioral health conditions.
The RN will work closely with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations governing Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP).
Schedule
Full-Time
- Monday – Friday: 5:45 AM – 1:00 PM
- Rotating Saturdays: 5:45 AM – 10:00 AM
- Willingness to provide coverage on the Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for admissions, readmissions, and ongoing patient care.
- Administer and dispense medications in compliance with New Jersey and federal Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) regulations.
- Monitor patients receiving medication-assisted treatment for effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in clinical status.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and interdisciplinary treatment team regarding patient care, dosing decisions, and medication management.
- Accurately document medication administration, nursing assessments, patient encounters, and clinical interventions in the electronic health record.
- Perform TB testing, vital sign monitoring, and other medical screenings as ordered.
- Assess and respond to medical emergencies, providing first aid and emergency interventions when necessary.
- Identify and communicate significant changes in patient condition to appropriate medical providers.
- Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, health maintenance, and recovery-related health concerns.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff by providing guidance on patient medical needs and best practices in addiction treatment.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, organizational, and professional nursing standards.
- Foster a compassionate, patient-centered environment that supports recovery and long-term wellness.
- Participate in Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) operations and outreach services as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Preferred
- Experience in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP), addiction medicine, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment.
- Knowledge of methadone and other MAT medications, including dosing protocols, monitoring requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
