Welcome to Motel

Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born.

Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.

The role

To ensure the safety, security, and protection of company premises, employees, visitors, and assets by monitoring, controlling access, and responding to security incident

Main tasks & responsibilities

Access Control & Monitoring

• Guard and monitor entry/exit points to control access of staff, visitors, and vehicles.

• Responsible for making visitor logs, and delivery documents and parcels.

Patrolling & Surveillance

• Conduct regular patrols of the office premises and surrounding areas.

• Monitor fire alarm systems.

Safety & Incident Response

• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.

• Report and document any suspicious activities or security breaches.

Asset Protection

• Ensure company assets are protected from theft, vandalism, or unauthorized removal.

• Monitor loading/unloading of goods and verify records.

Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with HR/GA or management regarding security issues.

• Prepare daily security reports and incident logs.

Compliance & Conduct

• Follow company security policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Assist in emergency drills (fire, evacuation, or disaster preparedness)

• Support Motel's sustainability initiatives by considering how our practices can improve, actively working in line with the sustainability journey of the business.

About you

• Minimum high school graduate (SMA/SMK or equivalent) and have security license

• Prior experience in security preferred.

• Physically fit and alert.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of basic safety and emergency procedures.
