About this role

Aurora’s Research department is seeking a results-oriented Senior Analyst to join our analytics and client-facing services team for the GB market, based in our Oxford office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and research to support Aurora’s market insights and strategic perspectives
  • Monitor and interpret policy developments relevant to the GB market
  • Work with Aurora’s proprietary modelling tools to develop forecasts and scenariobased insights
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to a wide range of clients, both inperson and online
  • Contribute to Aurora’s publications, including reports, briefing notes, and client communications

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Required attributes:
  • Experience in analytical roles within Research, Advisory, Software or Modelling
  • Proven ability to organise and manage their own time
  • Proven ability to interpret and derive insight from complex quantitative data and information
  • Ability to communicate clearly and co-operate effectively with both technically and non-technically minded people
  • Self-starting, entrepreneurial mind-set, and desire to grow the business
Desirable attributes:
  • Experience of power markets, in GB or another context
  • Experience working on financial markets or project finance
  • Demonstrated success in working together with clients
  • Competence in advanced data analytics (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, Advanced Excel)
