We are looking for a strong Senior Analytical Engineer who can independently lead app analytics end to end. This person will own measurement, tracking validation, funnel analysis, LTV analysis, attribution reporting, and performance insights for mobile/web applications.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable acting as the main analytics owner for apps, partnering with Product, Marketing, Growth, Engineering, and leadership teams to drive data-backed decisions.
- Own end-to-end analytics for mobile/web applications, from tracking design to business insights.
- Partner with Product, Growth, Marketing, Engineering, and leadership teams to define KPIs and measurement frameworks.
- Create, review, and maintain event tracking plans for GA4 and other analytics tools.
- Ensure accurate GA4 implementation for events, parameters, user properties, conversions, audiences, and campaign tracking.
- Build and analyze funnels, cohorts, retention views, user journeys, conversion flows, and engagement patterns.
- Analyze app performance using GA4 and raw event-level data stored in BigQuery.
- Perform LTV, retention, churn, engagement, conversion, revenue, CAC, ROAS, and cohort analyses.
- Understand and analyze attribution across paid, organic, referral, direct, and campaign sources.
- Ensure source, medium, campaign, UTM, and attribution data are correctly captured and usable inside GA4.
- Work with Marketing/Growth teams to evaluate campaign quality, conversion performance, acquisition sources, and user value.
- Use SQL to extract, clean, transform, and analyze raw app event-level data in BigQuery.
- Identify data quality issues in tracking, attribution, funnels, dashboards, or reporting logic and coordinate fixes.
- Build dashboards, recurring reports, and self-serve reporting views for stakeholders.
- Translate complex app behavior into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership and non-technical teams.
- Proactively identify product drop-offs, growth opportunities, retention risks, user behavior patterns, and performance gaps.
Requirements
- Hands-on understanding of Google Analytics 4 / GA4.
- Strong understanding of GA4 events, conversions, parameters, audiences, explorations, funnels, and reporting limitations.
- Solid SQL skills with the ability to analyze large datasets independently.
- Experience working with BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Ability to analyze raw event-level app data and reconcile it with GA4 reporting.
- Strong understanding of app analytics metrics, including users, sessions, events, installs, activations, conversions, retention, churn, engagement, and revenue.
- Ability to calculate and explain LTV, retention, churn, ARPU, ARPPU, conversion rate, CAC, ROAS, and cohort performance.
- Clear understanding of attribution models, UTM tracking, campaign tagging, traffic source logic, and source/medium/campaign reporting.
- Ability to validate tracking implementations and identify incorrect, missing, duplicated, or poorly defined events.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and data storytelling skills.
