Position Summary
The Senior Construction Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality control activities from project startup through closeout. This includes managing inspections, documentation, testing, submittals, and compliance with contract requirements while working closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and inspectors.
This position provides independent oversight of project quality to help ensure construction activities meet required standards without compromising safety, schedule, or overall project performance. The role requires a proactive leader who can identify issues early, coordinate corrective actions, and deliver thorough project documentation from beginning to completion.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or 20 years of directly related construction experience without a degree.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience working for a commercial or industrial general contractor.
- Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification.
- Strong knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical construction.
- Thorough understanding of construction sequencing and project scheduling.
- Experience with project change management and quality documentation.
- Solid knowledge of commercial, industrial, and site construction methods.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in active construction environments, including walking uneven terrain, climbing ladders and stairs, and conducting routine site inspections.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Candidates who do not currently possess the required certification may be given up to six months to obtain it.
