Senior IT Engineer Level 1

We're on the hunt for a Senior IT Engineer who loves cracking the toughest problems, and who gets a real thrill out of turning that insight into infrastructure that runs like clockwork, worldwide.

This is a senior, hands-on role sitting right at the intersection of engineering leadership and live operations, where every decision you make ripples across countries, business units, and thousands of end users. You'll architect the systems, set the standards, and mentor the next generation of engineers who'll carry this work forward. What You'll Do

• Chase down the root cause of the toughest production incidents, then engineer permanent fixes that stop them recurring for good
• Design and build the next generation of our infrastructure and systems architecture, from monitoring frameworks to disaster recovery
• Mentor and coach junior and intermediate engineers, turning tough technical moments into real learning and growth
• Put your stamp on technical reviews and architecture assessments, holding the bar high for every operational solution and deployment strategy
• Build the playbooks, runbooks, and standards that keep operations sharp, consistent, and ready for anything
• Hunt down performance bottlenecks and scalability limits, and engineer the solutions that let the business grow without friction
• Scout emerging technologies and tools, and champion the ones that will genuinely move the needle
• Sit at the table with platform architects and senior stakeholders, shaping the technical decisions that define our infrastructure's future
• Drive cross-team initiatives that push reliability, deployment, and observability forward across the business
• Lead the charge on site reliability engineering, defining the metrics and observability that keep platforms resilient under pressure

What We're Looking For

• 4-6 years of progressive experience in platform operations and infrastructure management, with demonstrated leadership in complex technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and junior engineer mentoring
• Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Computer Science or Information Technology, or an Advanced Diploma with relevant certifications and operational infrastructure experience
• Advanced root cause analysis capability with a proven track record resolving critical production incidents and preventing recurrence
• Deep technical expertise in complex infrastructure design, system performance optimisation, and deployment architecture across diverse platform environments
• Strong understanding of site reliability engineering practices, observability frameworks, and operational maturity
• Intermediate-Advanced proficiency in Automation, CI/CD Pipelines, Change Control and Change Management, Configuration Management, Database Administration, Deployment Automation, and DevOps
• Intermediate-Advanced proficiency in Disaster Recovery Planning, IT Service Management Platforms, ITIL 4, Infrastructure Design, Monitoring and Observability, Performance Optimisation, and Root Cause Analysis
• Developing-Intermediate proficiency in Cloud Computing Platforms, Network Security, Server Operating Systems, Shell Scripting, and Version Control Systems
• Demonstrated mentoring and technical leadership guiding junior and intermediate engineers through complex problems and architectural reviews
• A global mindset, comfortable working across multiple countries, continents, and systems
