About Us
Fluxergy is a rapidly growing in vitro diagnostics company innovating on the cutting-edge of laboratory testing. We’re developing the first and only multi-modal point-of-care platform that enables molecular, clinical chemistry, immunoassay, and hematology testing on the same system.
Our platform spans many markets including the clinical, veterinary, and food safety industries. We are seeking self-motivated problem solvers who are excited to help decentralize traditional laboratory infrastructure.
At the core of our company’s identity is a strong foundation in engineering. We take great pride in our commitment to critical thinking and pragmatic problem-solving through a modular and systemic perspective. We hold the conviction that transparent communication, coupled with the flexibility to adjust to evolving scenarios and the willingness to venture beyond familiar territories, is crucial to both our success and yours.
About the Role

We are seeking an initiative-taking Engineering or Science Intern to support the development and optimization of next-generation electrochemical sensor technologies for biological applications. This internship provides hands-on experience in ion-selective electrode (ISE) and metabolite sensor design, development, and manufacturing, including selected process optimization activities.

The intern will work in a fast-paced R&D and manufacturing environment, collaborating closely with scientists and engineers. Responsibilities include performing electrochemical testing, supporting signal processing efforts, analyzing complex datasets, and contributing to manufacturing process improvements that enhance sensor performance, production yield, and scalability.

This role is ideal for students interested in biotechnology, diagnostics, electrochemistry, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

What You Will Do

  • Support ion selective electrode manufacturing and testing biological samples

  • Assist in metabolite sensor fabrication, verification and validationand validation studies

  • Contribute to electrocatalyst manufacturing process optimization initiatives

  • Perform electrochemical characterization techniques including:

    • Cyclic Voltammetry (CV)

    • Open Circuit Potential (OCP)

    • Chronoamperometry (CA)

    • Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)

    • Conduct data analysis and visualization using Python and JMP

    • Help develop innovative manufacturing and process improvement solutions to optimize sensor performance

    • Maintain accurate experimental records and documentation in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

    • Participate in weekly technical discussions and collaborative research meetings

    • Support process transfer activities from R&D into production environments

    • Assist in generating scientific posters and technical materials for conferences such as ADLM

    • Contribute to automation, mechanical integration, and machine learning algorithm development projects as applicable
