Key Responsibilities
- Have thorough understanding of all roof systems and NRCA and manufacturer standard repair procedures (e.g. metal, modified, built up, shingle, single ply).
- Proficient in proper use all roofing tools and equipment.
- Knowledgeable of all roofing terminology.
- Directly supervise helpers in day to day activities.
- Train helpers in leak investigation and repair procedures.
- Ensure that employees adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook. Document policy violations (e.g tardiness, absences).
- Prepare time sheets in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that time; materials, etc. are properly assigned to work orders.
- Complete all required paperwork in timely and accurate manner. Document all customer interaction. Provide photos and complete written description of work performed.
- Plan and organize material, tools, and equipment needed in advance to ensure that all requirements outlined in the WO are implemented completely and accurately.
- Communicate WO requirements to helpers. Outline specific tasks required to complete each WO.
- Emphasize the need for high quality, complete, and professional work.
- Ensure that safe work practices are adhered to at the job site. Ensure that the job site is in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Resolve problems and issues which may arise on the WO on a day to day basis.
- Provide information regarding any unusual occurrences or problems which may exist at the job site to management to ensure that the issue is addressed in a proactive manner.
- Present professional and courteous image at all times.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
Work Skills
Roof system diagnosis and repair – Ability to diagnose and repair roof system problems safely and correctly
Language skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret
Communication skills –Speak in a clear and professional manner
Roof system installation – Ability to teach others roof system installation skills
Safety and security – Identify, correct and report unsafe conditions according to company and OSHA standards; use equipment and materials properly and effectively
Quality – Knowledge to inspect and assure attention to detail and quality
Cost consciousness – Understands budgeting and implications to jobs
Plans and specifications – Ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications
Essential (The following items are essential for applicants to possess.)
- Two (2) years of roofing production experience
- Ability to work 8- to 12-hour shifts, weekdays and weekends
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- English fluency
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour card
