Software Engineer
AI Summary
Full-stack engineer responsible for end-to-end feature work across a Python backend (Django/FastAPI) and a React/TypeScript frontend, with emphasis on data pipelines and real-time analytics.
About this role
The Role
We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to own meaningful slices of the product end to end. You will work across our entire stack, shipping features that directly impact revenue, advertiser experience, and publisher adoption. This is a high-autonomy role where the distance between writing code and seeing it in production is measured in hours, not quarters.
You will work directly with our CTO and the founding engineering team on the systems powering millions of ads a day across Fortune 500 campaigns.
Core Tech Stack
Backend: Python (Django, FastAPI), REST APIs, async workers
Frontend: React, TypeScript, modern component tooling
Data: PostgreSQL for transactional, ClickHouse for analytics and real-time metrics
Infra: AWS, Docker, CI/CD
Plus: Redis, observability tooling, and whatever else is needed to ship
What You Will Do
Build and iterate on advertiser-facing dashboards: campaign creation, live analytics, reporting.
Build and iterate on publisher-facing integration tools and SDKs.
Own data pipelines and analytics infrastructure on ClickHouse and PostgreSQL, supporting real-time metrics (CPC, CTR, ROAS, fill rate) and historical reporting.
Ship end-to-end features autonomously: scope, architect, build, test, deploy, and monitor.
Collaborate directly with the CTO and co-founders to translate product direction into working software, often within the same day.
Improve developer experience: CI/CD, testing, observability, and documentation.
Contribute to system architecture decisions as we scale from millions to billions of daily ad impressions.
Who You Are
Must-haves
2 to 5 years of experience as a full-stack engineer, shipping production code.
Proficient across the stack:
Backend: Python (Django and/or FastAPI), REST API design, async patterns.
Frontend: React, comfort with TypeScript and modern state management.
Data: PostgreSQL, query optimization, schema design. ClickHouse exposure is a strong plus.
Experience at an early-stage, fast-paced startup building product from zero to one, or at a major tech company where you shipped production code that real users relied on.
Comfortable owning a feature from database migration to production deploy with minimal hand-holding.
Bias to shipping. You would rather get a v1 in front of users this week than build the perfect v2 alone next month.
Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate. This is an in-person role at our SF HQ.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with ClickHouse or other column-oriented OLAP databases at scale.
Familiarity with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
Background in real-time data systems, event streaming (Kafka, Redis Streams), or high-throughput API design.
Interest in the AI and LLM ecosystem and how advertising will evolve inside conversational interfaces.
Prior work in ad tech, martech, or two-sided marketplaces.
Why Thrad
First mover: We are defining a new category. Paid ads in AI is an inevitable market and we are building the infrastructure for it.
Real traction: Fortune 500 clients, millions of daily impressions, and publisher partners like DeepAI, all pre-seed.
Direct impact: Small founding team. Your code ships the same day you write it. Your decisions shape the product.
Ownership: Meaningful equity in a company at the intersection of two massive markets: AI and ad tech.
Craft: A team that cares about shipping quality, not just quantity.
How to Apply
Send your CV and a brief note on what excites you about building at the intersection of AI and advertising. If you have a GitHub, portfolio, or anything you have built that you are proud of, include it. We read every application.
