Software Engineer - Platform Infrastructure
AI Summary
Platform Infrastructure engineer working on multi-cloud foundations (GCP/AWS), building and operating backend infra, tooling, and AI-assisted incident response for Spotify’s internal developer platform.
About this role
The Platform team creates the technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily, enabling rapid growth in our users and our business around the globe. Spanning many disciplines, we work to make the business work; creating the infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, and capabilities needed to welcome a billion customers.
What if the systems you built changed how millions of developers work, not just at Spotify, but across the industry? The Platform Developer Experience (PDX) studio builds the infrastructure and internal products that power how Spotify engineers ship software. Within PDX and Backstage Product Area, the Platform Infrastructure team is building the next generation of cloud and compute foundations that power our internal developer platform and the AI agents running on top of it, and help bring those capabilities to market through Portal, Spotify's external developer platform built on Backstage.
You'll join the Platform Infrastructure team within the Backstage Product Area. The team owns the cloud foundations, developer tooling and security posture that the rest of Platform, and ultimately all of Spotify R&D, depends on. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced engineers (both human and AI-assisted) while operating at real-world scale, with deep observability, strong safety boundaries, and the unique reliability challenges of agentic production systems.
