Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Payroll Global (APAC) will oversee end-to-end payroll operations across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and play a key role in scaling our India Global Payroll Operations Team, supporting North America, Europe, and APAC, with opportunities to expand as our global operations continues to grow.
This position is ideal for a hands-on payroll leader with deep knowledge of APAC statutory compliance, experience managing multi-country payrolls, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence through business process design, automation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations, compliance, and transformation for the APAC region.
  • Provide operational oversight of payroll processing across key global markets (North America, Europe, and APAC).
  • Build and manage a high-performing India-based payroll operations team supporting multiple regions.
  • Serve as the regional expert on payroll legislation, tax compliance, and statutory reporting for the APAC region.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll execution and issue resolution.
  • Establish and maintain payroll process documentation, KPIs, and audit controls, including SOX.
  • Drive operational efficiency through automation, standardization, and process improvements.
  • Support system configuration and enhancement initiatives, working with global IT and vendor partners.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and employee experience excellence.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 10-12 years of payroll experience with 3+ years leading regional or multi-country payrolls.
  • In-depth knowledge of APAC statutory payroll requirements (India, China, etc.).
  • Proven success leading payroll or business transformation initiatives focused on automation, process optimization, and efficiency within a complex, multi-country environment and systems (ADP, SAP, BamboHR, or other HR Information Systems, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage and analyze complex data and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll, finance, and HR systems such as ADP, SAP, and BambooHR or other HR Information Systems.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis, identifying process gaps, and implementing corrective and preventative actions to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
  • Experience in process improvement and automation (e.g., robotic process automation (RPA), robotic desktop automation (RDA), AI, Machine Learning, Microsoft Automation Tools, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively across time zones and cultures.
