Duties and Responsibilities
Legal Research and Analysis
- Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local legislative developments affecting firearm ownership, concealed carry, self-defense, and constitutional rights.
- Research and interpret court decisions, legal opinions, regulatory actions, and legislative proposals.
- Translate complex legal issues into clear, accurate, and accessible content for a broad audience.
- Stay current on emerging trends and developments within firearms law and self-defense jurisprudence.
Content Development
- Produce well-researched articles, legal breakdowns, educational guides, opinion-neutral analyses, and policy updates.
- Create content tailored to firearm owners, attorneys, instructors, law enforcement professionals, and self-defense advocates.
- Develop long-form and short-form content for magazines, websites, newsletters, blogs, andsocial media.
- Maintain a consistent editorial voice while ensuring factual accuracy and legal integrity.
Subject MatterExpert Interviews
- Conduct interviews with attorneys, judges, law enforcement personnel, firearm instructors, industry experts, and policymakers.
- Develop authoritative story concepts and content based on expert insights and current events.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with legal and industry sources.
Accuracy and Compliance

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, English, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Law, or a related field preferred.

Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional writing, journalism, legal reporting, or content development experience.
- Demonstrated experience covering legal, constitutional, public policy, firearms, self-defense, or related topics.
- Experience working with subject matter experts and conducting professional interviews.

- Strong understanding of the firearms industry and Second Amendment issues.
