SailGP’s constantly evolving design, composites engineering, software and data expertise is rooted in decades of experience at the forefront of cutting-edge sail racing. Previously established and located in New Zealand since 2001, SailGP Technologies has relocated to Southampton, UK, with the new state of the art facility which opened in Spring 2024.
Job Summary:
Own the SGPT stores function, inventory control, goods receipt and traceability processes to ensure materials and components are accurately controlled, identifiable and available to support manufacturing, development programmes and Tour operations.
The role acts as the primary custodian of inventory accuracy, stock visibility and material traceability within SGPT, helping ensure components can be efficiently received, inspected, identified, stored and supplied throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Stores & Inventory Management
- Own and maintain the stores area
- Maintain accurate inventory records across all stock locations
- Manage stock movements between stores and manufacturing areas.
- Conduct stock counts and reconciliation activities
- Monitor stock levels and identify replenishment requirements
- Flag low stock levels of consumables and commonly used items
- Maintain visibility of available stock to support manufacturing and operational planning
- Receive incoming materials and components and verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation. Escalate non-conforming deliveries and documentation issues
- Collect and maintain supplier certifications and supporting documentation
- Ensure materials are correctly identified, labelled and stored
Traceability & Identification
- Apply part identification, serial numbers, barcodes and life numbers
- Maintain component traceability records for both internal and external
- Support configuration control and component history tracking
Manufacturing & Operational Support
- Prepare work kits and part packs to support planned manufacturing activities
- Prepare stock and hardware packs for Tour requirements
- Generate shipping and transfer documentation for stock movements
- Coordinate stock transfers between SGPT and Tour operations
- Support manufacturing teams with material availability and stock visibility
Inventory Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain inventory records within Cheqroom and associated systems
- Support ERP inventory and material tracking activities
- Drive continuous improvement of inventory control and material flow processes
- Support implementation of traceability, barcode and identification systems

About you:
- Relevant experience within a Stores function and managing system set up.
- Knowledge of barcoding systems and inventory stock control.
- Appreciation for accuracy and pays close attention to detail when handling key information
- Proficient organisational, prioritisation, communication and administrative skills
- Able to communicate confidently
- Able to work independently but values working collaboratively as part of a team
- Works effectively and enjoys a fast-paced, start-up environment

Location:
Southampton, with potential travel required both international and national.
