Overview:

We are currently seeking a Spanish tax professional to work in London within a small team of tax professionals and be responsible for helping them provide tax support to our advisers (Partners/Private Client Managers) and clients based in Spain (and in time the UK).

Advice and planning will be to UK nationals who have retired, or are looking, to retire in Spain and thus will primarily cover private client taxation in Spain. Full training will be given in subjects such as UK taxation and common law structures such as trusts.

The work will also include keeping our advisers and internal technical manuals up-to-date and contributing to the editing our Living in Spain book and tax guide.

Key responsibilities:

· Preparing reports;

· Answering technical questions over the telephone and email;

· Writing technical updates

· Undertaking technical briefings/training presentations to our advisers (Partners/Private Client Managers) in Spain, as required

· Over time meeting with clients.

Experience and qualifications:

Essential:

  • The candidate will have been a Tax Adviser for a minimum of 2 years;
  • They will need to have good Spanish personal tax knowledge;
  • They will have in-depth knowledge and experience of advising on Spanish residence issues for people both leaving and entering the Spain;
  • They should hold a professional qualification such as law degree. Someone without these qualifications may be considered subject to them having a strong relevant track-record;
  • Strong English language verbal and written communication skills are essential

Desirable:

  • Experience with the UK taxation a distinct advantage:
  • Ability to speak French or Portuguese;

NB: The candidate must be prepared to travel within Europe (usually to Malta) as required.
