Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Manager to join our corporate tax group for a 14 month contract to fill a maternity leave.

This position will be located based out of our Kitchener/Waterloo, Canada office.

This is an excellent opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

The company’s corporate tax team is responsible for all aspects of income tax compliance with respect to the global operations of the company including, indirect taxation, accounting for income tax and developing international tax planning strategies.

The primary focus of the tax group is to minimize the overall effective tax rate, ensure compliance in all jurisdictions to increase shareholder value.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities are situated in the following domains:

  • Prepare corporate tax returns for global entities in our corporate structure;
  • Prepare the quarterly global tax provision under US GAAP including all note disclosure;
  • Research tax issues and provide analysis;
  • Assess the impact of any proposed legislation and ensure compliance with evolving legislation;
  • Analyze and anticipate complex tax situations and develop solutions and new approaches; and
  • Automate and standardize information gathering, processing, and documenting.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-6 years of progressive general corporate income tax experience;
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) designation is preferred; however consideration will be given to other accounting designations (CGA/CMA/CPA);
  • Completion of various CICA in-depth Tax programs would be an asset;
  • Experience with taxation of intellectual property;
  • Experience within the software industry and potentially US GAAP knowledge would be a definite asset;
  • Professional written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a changing environment;
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
