Job Description

We're looking for an experienced software engineer with a track record of technical leadership to join the Marketplace & Memorials Platform team. You'll lead a team of 3–4 engineers, owning both delivery and the day-to-day technical direction of the team. This is a hands-on lead role: you'll be writing code alongside your team while also setting standards, unblocking people, and keeping the work moving.
Lead engineering across a portfolio serving hundreds of funeral homes and tens of thousands of families – spanning high-volume integrations, a digital product suite, and a print platform under strategic review. You'll modernise legacy cloud solutions using Agentic AI toward a target architecture of .NET 10, React, and Azure AKS, while delivering next-generation AI-powered death notice and booklet design tools. You'll work daily with international colleagues across Germany, Sweden, and Norway.

Your tasks:

• Lead a team of 3–4 engineers: day-to-day guidance, technical direction, and delivery accountability
• Support the growth and effectiveness of your team members
• Identify and address technical risk, dependencies, and blockers early
• Collaborate closely with product management and customer success to scope, plan, and deliver features end-to-end
• Work closely with the Architect, other engineering teams, DevOps, and the CTOto keeptechnicaldirection aligned across the company
• Define and uphold engineering practices and quality standards within your team

Technical Environment

• Backend: C# (required); Java or PHP a plus
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Frontend: React, Vue

Your skillset:

• Strong C# background with production experience across multiple projects
• Proven experience leading small engineering teams, including direct technical mentorship
• Solid grasp of CI/CD,containerisation, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical plans
• Ownership mentality, from design through to production
• Fluent English (German or Swedish a plus)
