WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY

We areseekingto appoint a TechnicalApplications Engineerbased at our Lisburn office.

TheTechnical Applications Engineer,within the Business Development Team,is a key member of the global commercial organization, responsiblefor driving the technical excellence and competitiveness of bids and proposals across multiple regions.

This role supports regional sales teams byreviewing customer technical specifications,developingcompliant andoptimizedtechnicalproposals, andpositioning the company’s offerings competitively.

The role combinestechnicalexpertisewith acommercial mindset,understanding the aims of the customer, andensuring thatour offerings maximise the value that we deliver to our customers.

Key responsibilities

Day-to-day the role will be focused on supporting commercial team with customer specific proposals:

• Lead the technical evaluation of customer specifications, tender documents, and scope of work across multiple marketsfor all offerings.

• Coordinate globally withSalesand Business Developmentteams to produce aligned, competitive, and technically robust proposals.

• Contribute to the development of winning technical positioning strategies for key tenders and target accounts.

• Work cross functionally withProduct Management, Engineering, Customers Services,Marketingand other functions whenrequired.

• SupportSales Managersin technical discussionsand presentationswithcustomerson system functionality and capabilities including occasional product demonstrations.

• Propose technical configurations or system architectures that meet customer and project requirements.

• Provide technical clarifications and documentation during pre-bid and post-bid phases, working cross functionally to ensure alignment oncommercialanddelivery aspects.

The Technical Applications Engineer will also provide training to our staff and partners:

• Provide training and knowledge sharing on technical standards, product features, and solution optimizationto customers and internal staff.

• Support Partner Channel Manager to qualify and onboard Distributors and Agents including training and technical sales support both remotely and at customer/ channel location.

• Build credibility as a trusted technical advisor to customers and partners.

Furthermore, the role will support the business tounderstand developments in the various markets in which weoperate:

• Support market research on new products and market trends asrequired.

• Support the marketing team with marketing strategy and content asrequired.

• Understand voice of customer and provide feedback tointernal teamson product enhancement and new product introduction

• Conduct global competitor benchmarking toidentifydifferentiators in product design, system configuration, and performanceand how they are marketing and selling their solutions,translatingcompetitive insights into actionable recommendations for sales, marketing, and product teams.

Continuously improving processes within the role will be akey measures of success:

• Develop,implementand improveprocessesand toolsto support business operations and improvements, including the use of AI tools

• Develop andmaintainglobal templates and best practices for technical submissions and proposal documentation.
  
  

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

• Personable and ability to work across language and culture

• Knowledgeof electrical equipment, including transformers,generators,cables,circuitbreakersand a desireto continuously learn and develop deeper domainexpertise

• Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce.

• Understanding of industrial communication protocols(i.e.MODBUS,DNP3, IEC61850).

• Knowledge of sector regulatory environments, including internationally, and Innovation Funding channels will be a plus.

• Excellent command of English

• Willingness to travel internationally.
