Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

• Learn practical skills and techniques to produce different types of bespoke furniture including laminated cabinets, furniture and other items

• Learn how to operate machines, tools and equipment including wood machines

• Become a skilled trades person understanding and following industry standards and safety procedures

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Furniture making operative Level 2

Your training plan

• During your Furniture Manufacturing Level 2 apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on the job

• You will be required to train on a weekly basis here at Webs Training Beeston Nottingham

• You will learn the underpinning knowledge that runs alongside your practical elements of the training

• You will use a wide range of techniques whilst you complete a practical project

• Training will be provided in all areas of manufacturing to ensure you can create practical and bespoke products

• If you have already achieved GCSE maths and English at Grade C/4 or above or have equivalent qualification you will be exempt from undertaking Functional Skills, however English and maths support will be provided for all apprentices throughout the length of their programme
