ASI is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to manufacture, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling and dies used in production operations. This role is responsible for analyzing technical specifications, operating precision machinery, troubleshooting tooling issues, and ensuring molds and dies meet quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, precision machining experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, adjust, and fabricate molds, dies, and precision tooling components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate precision machining equipment, including surface grinders and milling machines, to manufacture and repair tooling components.
  • Utilize shop equipment such as comparators, water pumps, and other precision measuring and machining tools.
  • Inspect manufacturing areas, tooling, equipment, and machined parts at the beginning of each shift or as required.
  • Support molding technicians and manufacturing operations by performing repairs and adjustments to tooling to minimize production downtime.
  • Determine necessary modifications, repairs, and adjustments to molds and tooling components.
  • Work with hot runner mold systems and assist with temperature control testing alongside electronics technicians.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
  • Follow established safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP, ISO, GDP, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and safety programs.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by supporting the well-being of coworkers, equipment, and company operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical school degree in Tool and Die Technology or equivalent training.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 8,000 hours of documented experience operating tool and die machinery and equipment.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts with flexibility to meet operational needs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings in English.
  • Experience interpreting engineering blueprints and part specifications.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain and maintain certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
