About this role
Purpose: Responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient cutting tool setup, maintenance, and inventory management to support production schedules and minimize downtime. He/She ensures maximizing tool life, reducing procurement costs, and ensuring overall production efficiency.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify cutting tool components against delivery documents, checking for damage or defects.
- Set up and prepare cutting tool assemblies according to TDM (Tool Data Management) software specifications to meet production schedules and plans.
- Measure cutting tools using presetter (Eg. Zoller) to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Maintain and calibrate tooling equipment to ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and longevity, thereby maximizing tool life.
- Maintain accurate tool inventory records in Tool Data Management Software to ensure real-time visibility of tool availability.
- Maintain cutting tool inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and management of tooling assets.
- Collaborate with production team to ensure efficient tooling setup and minimize downtime.
- Update cutting tool movement and location data, clean and label dismantled tool components to support reuse and reduce procurement costs.
Requirements
- Nitec in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Precision or Industrial Engineering).
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in tooling setup, measurement, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with machining processes.
- Familiarity with TDM software and Zoller presetters.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail.
- Continuous learning mindset and adaptability to new technologies and processes.
