We are looking for a Type Approval Manager to join our IT team! You will be responsible for ensuring that products meet regulatory, technical, safety, and environmental standards for specific markets before they can be sold, for managing all regulatory verification and certification procedures, including interfacing with external ODM partners, laboratories and certification bodies. The role develops and implements strategies for multiple products using similar platforms to obtain global approvals with minimal expense. You shall continuously monitor changes in international regulations and standards to advise internal teams on potential impacts on existing products and/or ongoing products, shall maintain certification and IMEI databases and manage submissions for GCF, PTCRB, CE, TAC, and other necessary approvals.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that products meet regulatory, technical, safety, and environmental standards for specific markets before they can be sold, for managing all regulatory verification and certification procedures, including interfacing with external ODM partners, laboratories and certification bodies.
- Approval Cycle Time.
- The average duration from initial submission to the receipt of final type approval certificates, categorized by region or product line.
- Develops and implements strategies for multiple products using similar platforms to obtain global approvals with minimal expense.
- Certification cost management.
- Maintaining certification and testing expenses within ±10% of the annual budget.
- shall continuously monitor changes in international regulations and standards to advise internal teams on potential impacts on existing products and/or ongoing products, shall maintain certification and IMEI databases and manage submissions for GCF, PTCRB, CE, TAC, and other necessary approvals.
- Certification renewal rate.
- 100% on-time renewal of existing certifications to prevent "gaps" in the right to sell products in specific territories.
- Employees will be required to adhere to NEXA's information security policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in EE, Telecommunications, Computer, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in cert management of wireless industry focusing on below certificate-
- FCC, IC, CE, RCM, UKCA,
- PTCRB, GCF, CTIA OTA, Carrier OTA
- BQB (Bluetooth), WFA (Wi-Fi Alliance), NFC Forum
- WHQL, PSTI, Cybersecurity
- Intrinsic Safety: CSA Class I/II/III Division 2, IECEx, ATEX (ib, ic)
- ECO: UL 110 / UL 2710, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, CP65, TSCA, Halogen Free
- Familiarity with IMEI database management and TAC applications
- Mobile hotspot, CPE and FWA industrial experience is highly expected.
- Strong knowledge of wireless technologies and regulatory standards.
- Excellent project management,and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Capable of analyzing the technical requirements,identifying project risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Excellent English proficiency, with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to work across cultures.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work across varying time zones.
- Highly desired:
- Global mobile carriers projects experience is preferred, e.g. AT&T, Verizon, Bell, Telstra, O2, KPN, Orange, Vodafone, Telia, etc.
