About the Role
Standard Capital is hiring a Content Producer, Video to help build and operate our video content engine across Dalton + Michael and the Standard Capital YouTube channels.
We are looking for someone who can help us build a serious video operation without turning the content into generic corporate media.
This person will work directly with Dalton Caldwell to manage the full video production workflow: owning the content calendar, coordinating weekly shoots in Palo Alto, orchestrating production contractors, and making sure finished videos are published consistently at a high level of quality.
The ideal candidate is already familiar with Dalton + Michael and understands why the series works: direct, honest, founder-focused information, practical and low on fluff.
What You’ll Do
Own the content calendar across Dalton + Michael and Standard Capital video channels
Coordinate weekly in-person shoots at our private studio in Palo Alto
Work directly with Dalton on video priorities, episode ideas, publishing cadence, and content strategy
Manage editors, designers, and other production contractors
Translate creative direction into clear briefs, timelines, and deliverables
Track videos through every stage of production: concept, shoot, edit, review, packaging, publishing, and post-publication analysis
Review cuts and provide structured feedback to editors
Keep production organized so videos ship consistently and on schedule
Measure and monitor content performance, identify what is working, and work to raise the bar on quality and engagement
Help develop a repeatable system for turning long-form conversations into high-quality clips and social assets
Who You Are
You have experience producing YouTube videos, podcasts, interview shows, founder content, or other digital video formats
You are highly organized and can manage multiple contractors and projects at once
You are comfortable working directly with a founder/principal and turning high-level direction into execution
You understand YouTube as a format, including titles, thumbnails, retention, clips, Shorts, and publishing strategy
You have strong editorial judgment and can tell when a video feels sharp, boring, too polished, too long, or off-tone
You are familiar with Dalton + Michael and understand the tone of the show
You care about startups, founders, AI, and venture capital
You are comfortable being in Palo Alto for weekly shoots
You are low-ego, detail-oriented, fast-moving, and reliable
You can manage creative work without letting projects drift
What We’re Looking For
The right person will understand that the value of Dalton + Michael is not flashy production. It is the clarity, honesty, and usefulness of the advice. Your job is to help preserve that while making the overall operation more consistent, higher-quality, and easier to scale.
You should be able to manage editors and contractors, improve workflow, keep the calendar moving, and help us make better decisions about what to record, how to package it, and how to distribute it.
Nice to Have
Experience producing a YouTube channel with a regular publishing cadence
Experience with startup, tech, investing, or founder-focused content
Experience managing freelance editors, thumbnail designers, or social video teams
Familiarity with YouTube Studio analytics
Strong taste in titles, thumbnails, and short-form clips
Experience with Riverside, Descript, Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, Frame.io, Figma, or similar tools
Experience building systems for content operations
