Warehouse Assistant

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Assistant plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of storage facilities, distribution centers, and logistics companies. They are responsible for supporting the daily functions of the warehouse, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and safely. This position is vital for maintaining inventory accuracy, facilitating timely deliveries, and supporting overall supply chain management.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Receiving Duties

• Unloading deliveries from trucks or containers.
• Inspecting goods for damages or discrepancies.
• Verifying deliveries against purchase orders or invoice.

Stock Management & Storage

• Organising stock within the warehouse.
• Labelling and tagging items for easy identification.
• Using shelving systems or pallets to store goods securely.
• Ensuring stock rotation by verifying expiration dates on a daily basis.

Order Fulfillment & Dispatch

• Picking products from shelves based on order specifications.
• Packing items securely for shipment.
• Preparing shipping labels and documentation.
• Loading goods onto delivery vehicles.

Maintaining Warehouse Safety & Cleanliness

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Keeping work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Using protective equipment when necessary.
• Reporting unsafe conditions or accidents to an on-duty manager.
• Following company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or retail is desirable but not mandatory
• Certification in forklift operation or other machinery (not required but advantageous)
• Experience working with inventory management systems (e.g. BRdata).
• Knowledge of store operations, receiving and merchandising.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities.

Work Environment:

• Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Punctuality is essential; ensure you arrive at work at least 10 min before start time.

Hours of Operation:

• The Warehouse operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm.
