We are currently seeking an experienced Wet Utilities Foreman to lead field crews on underground utility installation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage installation, along with the leadership skills needed to safely manage crews, equipment, materials, and daily production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise wet utility crews performing water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage installation.
  • Review project plans, utility profiles, grade stakes, and daily work assignments with the Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Coordinate daily crew activities, equipment needs, material deliveries, and job-site logistics.
  • Ensure proper installation of pipe, manholes, catch basins, inlets, valves, structures, and related utility components.
  • Monitor trench depth, bedding, pipe alignment, slope, connections, backfill, and compaction to ensure work meets project specifications.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, including trench safety, utility locates, equipment safety, traffic control, and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and address job-site hazards before work begins.
  • Train, coach, and support pipelayers, laborers, and equipment operators.
  • Track daily production, labor hours, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, schedule concerns, and material needs to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure they are safe, properly maintained, and ready for use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and productive job site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of wet utility construction experience, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage installation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading or supervising a construction crew preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wet utility installation methods, pipe grades, trench safety, bedding, backfill, compaction, and utility structures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, utility profiles, grade stakes, and specifications.
  • Experience coordinating heavy equipment, crew members, subcontractors, and material deliveries.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical field work as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
