Workday Integration Specialist

About the role

AspenView is seeking a Workday Integration Specialist to join a high-impact identity governance program on a contract, day-rate basis. In this role, you will integrate Workday HCM as the authoritative identity source into a modern Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platform. This is a critical-path position: reliable, well-mapped Workday data is the foundation on which the entire Joiner–Mover–Leaver (JML) automation depends.

You will operate in an environment where JML processes are currently partially automated across Workday, ServiceNow, and Active Directory. The new IGA layer must absorb and govern this flow, and your work designing and building the Workday integration will directly enable that transition. The engagement places particular emphasis on the discovery and design phase, with ongoing support carried through integration testing and go-live.

The shift hours for this role are allocated in European timezone.

What you will do:

Workday Integration Design & Build

• Design and configure the Workday HCM connector, including joiner, mover, and leaver (JML) event processing.
• Build and test the connector, validating reliable real-time or near-real-time event processing.
• Author the Workday integration design document as a primary program deliverable.

Data Mapping & Transformation

• Define and document attribute mapping and transformation from Workday into the IGA platform.
• Interpret and leverage the Workday supervisory organization hierarchy to drive approval routing.
• Handle non-standard job roles and custom attribute mapping requirements.

Governance & Validation

• Establish reconciliation processes and identity-state validation to ensure ongoing data integrity.
• Support the transition of existing JML automation (Workday → ServiceNow → Active Directory) into the new IGA layer so it can be centrally governed.
• Provide hands-on support through integration testing and go-live.

What you bring:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.

Experience

• Proven experience designing and configuring Workday HCM connectors, including JML event processing.
• Hands-on experience with attribute mapping and transformation from Workday into an IGA platform.
• Experience handling the Workday supervisory org hierarchy for approval routing.
• Experience implementing real-time or near-real-time event processing.
• Experience with non-standard job role and custom attribute mapping.

Technical Expertise

• Essential: demonstrable Workday HCM integration experience.
• Required: IGA platform connector experience using the SailPoint or Saviynt Workday connector.
• Nice to have: Workday Extend or Studio experience.
• Nice to have: experience handling Workday pre-hire and contractor population feeds.
• Nice to have: multi-country / multi-entity Workday configurations.

Certifications

• Relevant Workday HCM integration and/or IGA platform (SailPoint or Saviynt) certifications are considered an asset.
