2026 – 2027 StepStone Portfolio Analytics and Reporting – Client Services Intern

The team you'll join

You'll join StepStone's Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (SPAR) team, supporting clients across multiple private markets asset classes. While Private Equity is the primary area of focus, the team also supports Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Debt strategies. The team delivers portfolio reporting, data management, and analytics for private markets clients and works closely with colleagues across research, client service and other relevant departments.

About the role

StepStone is seeking a highly motivated student to join the SPAR Client Services team, where Private Equity is the primary area of focus. This internship offers hands-on exposure to private markets, performance reporting, financial data analysis, and client service operations. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and develop a foundational understanding of private equity reporting practices, portfolio analytics, and the systems used to support high-quality client deliverables.

What you'll do

You'll support recurring reporting processes, data validation, portfolio analysis, and team projects. Through training and practical assignments, you'll strengthen your analytical, technical, and professional communication skills while gaining insight into how a global private markets firm supports its clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, organising, and validating financial and portfolio data used in client reporting.
• Support the preparation of recurring client deliverables and internal reporting materials.
• Assist with processing quarterly reports, capital account statements, and cash flow information from private market investment managers.
• Help maintain accurate information in reporting databases and proprietary systems.
• Conduct research and analysis on private equity funds and market trends across strategies, sectors, and geographies.
• Use Microsoft Excel and reporting tools to organise, analyse, and present data.
• Support the development of presentations, charts, and visualisations for internal and client-facing materials.
• Collaborate with SPAR team members and cross-functional partners to gather information, meet deadlines, and support ad hoc projects.

What we're looking for

• Must be able to work legally in Ireland without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, mathematics, data analytics, or a related field.
• Be able to work full time in our Dublin office November 2026 - April 2027.
• Strong interest in financial services, private markets, portfolio analytics, or performance reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerPoint or data visualisation tools is helpful.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Intellectual curiosity, a proactive approach, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
