3rd Shift Manual Welder (Mayville)

Metalcraft of Mayville is looking for an experienced Manual Welder to join our manufacturing team!

In this role, you’ll use your welding skills to fabricate metal parts and assemblies according to blueprints, specifications, and established weld standards. You’ll perform MIG welding, inspect completed work, and make adjustments to ensure every part meets our quality expectations.

We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on welding experience who takes pride in producing quality work, understands welding standards, and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual MIG welding to fabricate metal parts and assemblies

• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and established weld standards

• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, work instructions, and specifications

• Set up and adjust welding equipment as needed

• Clamp, position, tack weld, grind, bend, or bolt components to prepare parts for welding

• Inspect and measure completed parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality requirements

• Use gauges and other measuring tools to verify finished work

• Identify and correct basic welding or quality issues

• Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on welding equipment and machinery

• Safely operate lifts, cranes, and other equipment as required

• Use computers and production systems as they relate to the position

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Follow all company and plant safety standards

• Assist in other production areas as needed

Qualifications

• 3 years of welding experience preferred

• High school diploma or GED

• Welding certificate or technical degree preferred

• Ability to successfully complete an internal welding test

• Previous experience with MIG welding

• Knowledge of welding fixtures and setup parameters, including amps and volts

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols

• Ability to understand operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to inspect and measure completed work accurately

• Basic computer skills

• Strong communication skills

• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Dependable and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
