The Position

The role of the Academic Administrator will be to assist programme managers and academics with various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate must be able to work well within a high performing team and be able to collaborate with others to achieve the team objectives.

Responsibilities include:


General Administration

  • Assist programme managers and lecturers with general administrative matters
  • Manage filing and record keeping
  • Assist with the preparation for quality assurance verification visits
  • Assist with administrative tasks and the organisation of part-time or contract academic staff
  • Schedule student live sessions and upload recordings thereof
  • Assist with the administration of tests and exams
  • Assisting assessment marking teams where necessary

Assist with programme management functions.

  • Assist with the student admission process where necessary
  • Assist with the student registration process where necessary

Student Support

  • Address student administrative queries and resolve in a timely manner
  • Ensure the student profiles are kept up to date as required
  • Respond to or appropriately assign student queries (email, telephonic and online)
  • Build and maintain healthy working relationships with internal departments, academics, contractors and students

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Matric, Grade 12, or the equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in an administrative role

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools used in educational settings
  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently
