Accountant – Munich-based
AI Summary
Owns day-to-day accounting operations for an audio AI company, including bank reconciliation, accounts payable, and monthly close, while driving automation and process improvements.
About this role
Bragi is the audio platform that enables anyone to build smart audio products people love.
We were founded in Munich in 2013 and invented the true wireless category with The Dash, a full year before AirPods. Since then, we've invested more than $90 million in software and AI, and moved from building our own hardware to building the platform that makes everyone else's hardware smarter.
Today, Bragi brings world-leading services onto audio devices: music platforms, AI providers and productivity tools, all controlled through natural interaction rather than screens and taps. Our platform already supports more than 30 million devices. Partners include Bose, Skullcandy and Tozo, alongside services such as Fireflies, TuneIn, Endel, SoundCloud and many more.
As AI moves off the screen and into the ear, audio is becoming one of the most personal ways people interact with technology. We're building the platform that makes that possible, and the work you do here ships to millions of people.
Accountant – Munich-based
We are looking for a hands-on, proactive accountant to own the day-to-day accounting operations of Bragi, the audio AI company on its way to becoming the cross-brand platform for hearables: the service and interaction layer across devices and brands. Our value grows with the number of devices running Bragi software and the revenue each device generates, and Finance is part of the infrastructure that lets us scale without our operational complexity growing at the same pace. You will run critical processes independently, work with modern tools including AI, and work closely with the Accounting Manager to shape how we organise and scale the finance function. This is not a back-office role.
This is a hybrid role based in Munich, reporting to the Accounting Manager
What you will be working on
- Reconcile bank transactions daily, and support our move from manual statement uploads to automated bank feeds and rule-based matching
- Own the full Accounts Payable cycle end to end, from invoice receipt and compliance checks against company policy and German GAAP, through pre-accounting and posting in SAP Business One, towards straight-through processing
- Maintain and administer our spend management and pre-accounting platform, including approval flows, subscriptions, user management and the interface to SAP
- Manage our corporate travel tool and review employee travel expenses against company travel policy and German travel expense rules (per diems, input VAT), making sure they are correctly booked in SAP Business One
- Monitor and reconcile supplier ageing, and act as the main contact for supplier communication
- Support the monthly close, including General Ledger account reconciliations and cash bookings, so management reporting and quarterly business reviews run on clean and timely data
- Work with the Accounting Manager to improve department workflows: spot manual steps, workarounds and interfaces that could be automated, bring ideas forward and help implement them
What you will need
- A completed degree in Finance, Accounting or a comparable field
- 4–6 years of solid accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), German and intra-EU VAT (incl. reverse charge), and fixed assets
- Very good English; German is a plus, as you will work with German invoices, suppliers and regulatory requirements every day
- SAP Business One experience is strongly preferred, as it is the backbone of our finance processes and automation; experience with spend management and pre-accounting tools is a plus
- Experience with licensing, royalty or digital revenue models is strongly preferred, ideally gained in a scaling tech or platform company where you've learned to keep pace with fast-changing priorities and tools.
- You're digitally fluent and see AI as part of how work gets done.
- A keen eye for inefficiencies and a habit of bringing ideas to simplify or automate processes
- Ability to work independently and proactively, managing your workload without daily direction
- You will be measured on timely and accurate monthly close, daily bank reconciliation, a rising share of invoices processed straight-through, clean supplier ageing, and the automation improvements you bring in
What we offer
- Master your accounting skills by working in a creative and game-changing environment
- A flexible online Learning & Development program: choose where you want to improve yourself
- 10 personal 1:1 sessions with Nilo.Health's expert coaches to support your growth and wellbeing
- You can enjoy onsite perks such as breakfast and lunch, as well as regular social events
