As the Mexico operation grows in importance, the company is investing in stronger local accounting and administrative support while giving the right person meaningful exposure to senior finance leadership in both Mexico and the United States.
About the Role
This is an opportunity for a an accounting & office administrative specialist who is ready for more ownership.
You will work closely with the local consulting CFO and the U.S.-based Group CFO, taking ownership of day-to-day accounting, financial reporting support, SAT and CFDI compliance, payroll coordination, administration, and finance-related projects. The role is intentionally broad and hands-on: you will be the key local person helping senior leadership keep the Mexican operation organized, compliant, and financially sound.
You do not need to arrive knowing every part of the role. Strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, initiative, and the willingness to learn are more important than having already managed every finance, HR, banking, or administrative function.
This is a full-time, in-office position in Tlalnepantla de Baz, Estado de México.
Responsibilities:
- Own and coordinate day-to-day accounting activities for the Mexican operation in partnership with the local consulting CFO and U.S. finance leadership
- Support an accurate and timely month-end close, including account analysis, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and ad hoc reporting
- Help ensure ongoing compliance with Mexican accounting, tax, SAT, CFDI, and electronic invoicing requirements
- Coordinate closely with U.S.-based Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to keep local transactions, billing, collections, and payments accurate
- Prepare documentation and supporting schedules for periodic audits, transfer pricing initiatives, and other accounting projects
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, process documentation, and segregation-of-duties practices as the Mexican operation continues to develop
- Coordinate local payroll inputs, employee administration, and benefits-related processes with the appropriate internal and external partners
- Maintain local corporate and administrative records and support legal entity compliance activities
- Coordinate office administration and help ensure the local operation runs smoothly day to day
- Partner with U.S.-based IT resources on local systems, technology, ERP, and process-improvement initiatives
Requirements
Must-Have:
- At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, with solid knowledge of core accounting principles, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
- Practical experience with Mexican accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance, including familiarity with SAT requirements
- Experience with billing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a combination of these functions
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the confidence to work directly with U.S.-based executives
- Advanced Excel skills, including functions, PivotTables, and charts
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
- Ability and willingness to work full-time on-site in Tlalnepantla de Baz, Estado de México
Nice to Have:
- Strong hands-on experience with CFDI and Mexican electronic invoicing requirements
- Experience with inventory, imports, distribution, manufacturing, international trade, or related accounting processes
- Experience working for a U.S.-owned, multinational, or internationally managed company in Mexico
- Exposure to ERP implementation or finance systems improvement, including Microsoft Dynamics GP or another ERP platform
- Experience with Power BI, transfer pricing support, audit preparation, payroll coordination, or administrative functions
