Expected Hiring Salary: $55,000 - $58,000
WHO YOU ARE
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you are self-motivated, detail-oriented and proactive. You have experience in full cycle Accounts payable, Bank reconciliation, Month-end reconciliations, maintaining accurate and up to date records within a nonprofit setting.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger using QuickBooks Online
- Record and pay invoices and expense reports, liaise with vendors and colleagues
- Reconcile and record credit card payments
- Prepare documentation for filing of GST/HST returns to claim rebate
- Assist with month-end closing & reporting, and annual audit process
- Issuing tax receipts for donations received using RE-NXT
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and accounting standards
- As needed, help to develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that promote sound financial management practices and internal controls
- Proactively maintain highly organized filing system, file invoices, reimbursements, insurance information and other financial records
Other duties assigned as required.
WHAT YOU OFFER
Required:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting of 5 years at a minimum, within a nonprofit organization
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Commitment to the mission and values of Up With Women
Preferred
- English/French bilingualism is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with BambooHR is preferred but not required
