The Role
We're looking for an accounting or finance student who wants hands-on bookkeeping and audit experience. You'll spend most of your time on-site with clients in and around Waukegan. You'll organize their financial records, reconcile accounts, and help get their books ready for close and audit. You'll report to [Supervisor name] and check in regularly with our accounting team.


What You'll Do

  • Travel to client sites, mostly in Waukegan and Lake County
  • Collect, scan, and upload receipts, invoices, and statements
  • Attach supporting documents to transactions in the accounting system
  • Find missing documentation and follow up with clients to get it
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Research and resolve reconciliation differences
  • Review transactions for proper documentation and coding
  • Help with month-end and year-end close
  • Prepare schedules and documents requested by auditors
  • Keep electronic accounting and audit files organized
  • Keep the OSG team updated on the status of your work

What You Need

  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Basic Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Reliable transportation to client sites in the Waukegan and Chicago area


Nice to Have

  • Bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative experience
