About the role

OneEnergy is seeking an Accounts Payable Intern for the summer of 2027. This position will support the Accounting & Finance team in processing vendor invoices, maintaining vendor records, and assisting with employee expense programs for development, construction, and operating projects. This role provides hands-on experience in the full accounts payable lifecycle while exposing the intern to renewable energy project development, corporate operations, financial controls, and month-end accounting processes. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial transactions across OneEnergy's growing solar portfolio.


What you'll do

  • Review and process vendor invoices.
  • Validate invoice documentation, coding, approvals, and supporting records prior to entry into the accounting system.
  • Assistwith purchase requisition review andpurchaseorder administration.
  • Support weekly payment runs by preparing payment documentation and reviewing supporting materials.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiriesregardinginvoices, vendors, payment status, andaccountspayable processes.
  • Assistwith vendor onboarding, including collection and review of W-9s, banking information, andrequiredvendor documentation.
  • Support maintenance of vendor records and master data within company systems.
  • Assistwith employeeexpenseand corporate card administration, including transaction reviews and policy compliance checks.
  • Monitor invoicing andapprovalworkflows and follow up with project managers, spend owners, and business stakeholders as needed.
  • Help prepare account reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
  • Assistwith filing, auditing, and organization of accounts payable documentation and records.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, automation, and internal controls.
  • Support annual reporting, audit requests, and special accounting projects as assigned.
  • Gain familiarity with renewable energy project cost structures, construction payment processes, lease payments, and project accounting concepts.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

What you'll bring

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in anassociate or bachelor’sdegree program in AccountingorFinance.
  • Interest inan Accountingor Financecareer path.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability tomaintainaccuracy while handling large volumes of information.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Comfortable learning new software systems and business processes.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a fast-paced, cross-functional organization.
  • Priorinternship, accounting coursework, bookkeeping experience, or exposure to ERP/accounting systems is a plus but notrequired.
  • Interest in sustainability, renewable energy, or infrastructure development is preferred.

Dates and Deadlines:

  • The 12-week internship will run from Tuesday, June 1st - Friday, August 20th. Start and ends dates can be flexed based on school schedule.
  • Applications are due on Monday, October 12th.

Compensation:

OneEnergy’s compensation packages are dependent on an array of factors including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other organizational needs. Interns will be paid an hourly rate of $25/hour.
