The Accounting Manager, UK splits time between global accounting initiatives and UK-specific accounting operations. On the UK side, this person manages outside accountants for Parallel Wireless's UK entity (PWUK), acting as the on-the-ground lead who ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, and partners with UK HR on related matters. On the global side, this person is a member of the Global Accounting team, owning assigned areas of accounting responsibility and leading cross-entity initiatives that strengthen the close, controls, and process automation across the group.

This role reports to the Assistant Controller based in the United States and requires three days per week in the UK office.

Global Accounting Responsibilities:

Global Initiatives & Process Improvement
  • Own assigned global areas of accounting responsibility as part of the Global Accounting team
  • Lead cross-entity initiatives and special projects as part of the Global Accounting team
  • Contribute to global month-end and quarter-end close deliverables, driving consistency of accounting treatment across entities
  • Help design and document global accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support global audit and statutory reporting requirements, coordinating information requests across entities
  • Identify and implement automation and system improvements that reduce manual effort across the global close

    • UK Accounting Responsibilities:

    Financial Review & Reporting

  • Own the accuracy and integrity of UK entity financial statements, directing month-end and year-end close through outside accountants
  • Direct outside accountants on statutory reporting, tax filings, and audit requirements, serving as the primary UK accounting authority to auditors and regulators

    • Accounts Payable & Cash Management

  • Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring controls, accuracy, and timely processing across the UK entity
  • Set and enforce purchase order approval policy and thresholds
  • Own corporate credit card governance, including reconciliation standards and expense compliance
  • Direct lease accounting and administration for UK facilities and equipment
  • Lead cash forecasting for the UK entity, providing visibility into funding needs and partnering with the global team on intercompany funding

    • Payroll & HR Support

  • Lead payroll accounting support for UK HR, including data validation, reconciliations, and resolution of payroll-related accounting matters
  • Serve as the accounting authority for UK HR on compensation-related matters

    • Compliance

  • Monitor and advise leadership on changes in UK tax and regulatory requirements relevant to the entity
  • Maintain UK accounting policies and internal controls, ensuring alignment with global Accounting standards and supporting audit readiness
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to strengthen controls and efficiency across UK accounting operations

    • Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, plus a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or equivalent experience

    Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including managing outside accountants or accounting staff. Experience within a multinational group structure preferred, ideally US-parented
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), Companies House filing requirements, and HMRC tax compliance
  • Experience with intercompany accounting and group reporting across a multi-entity structure preferred
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to direct external accountants and partner effectively with UK HR and US-based Accounting leadership
  • Enthusiasm for modernizing how accounting work gets done, including adopting automation and AI tools as the function evolves
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives
