The Accounting Specialist is an individual contributor role responsible for supporting core accounting operations for Colombia and Chile, ensuring accurate financial records, timely close activities, ensuring tax compliance, and aligning with corporate policies and local statutory requirements.

The role is expected to analyze balance sheet accounts, prepare supporting schedules, and contribute to management and corporate reporting by delivering reliable financial information and timely issue resolution.

Working under the guidance of the Finance Manager, this role partners with Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, and external service providers to support regulatory and tax compliance, audits, and continuous process improvement across the Colombia and Chile scope.

Key Responsibilities

This position performs accounting activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, accounts payable and receivable support, and month-end close tasks, while helping maintain the integrity of the general ledger for both entities.


  • Perform and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for the Colombia and Chile entities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with corporate accounting policies and applicable standards.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Review accounting transactions and investigate variances or unusual items, escalating issues as needed and helping ensure timely resolution.
  • Support the preparation of monthly reporting packages, schedules, and analyses required for management reporting, corporate consolidation, and audit requests.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for fixed assets, intercompany transactions, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other assigned areas.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities with third-party providers and internal stakeholders for accounting, payroll, tax, and statutory reporting processes in Colombia and Chile.
  • Assist in the preparation of information required for local statutory filings, tax compliance, internal controls, and external or internal audits.
  • Help monitor compliance with local regulatory requirements and support documentation needed for local authorities, auditors, and corporate finance teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, standardize documentation, and strengthen the quality and efficiency of finance operations.
  • Collaborate effectively across Finance and cross-functional teams to support business requirements while maintaining strong attention to detail, controls, and deadlines.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational company, shared services environment, or regional finance structure.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and local statutory or tax reporting requirements in Colombia and/or Chile; exposure to US GAAP reporting is a plus.
  • Experience working with external accounting, payroll, tax, or statutory service providers is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required; SAP knowledge is preferred. Strong Excel skills are expected.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy under deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently within defined scope, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with regional and corporate stakeholders.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
  • Advanced English and Spanish are required; Portuguese is a plus.
