Adjunct Faculty Opportunities - Prison Education Program

Position Description

Columbia-Greene Community College is seeking qualified, student-centered educators to join its Prison Education Program (PEP) adjunct faculty. We are seeking instructors from all disciplines to conduct in-person classes through the College's Prison Education Program at New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) facilities. Course assignments are based on departmental needs, enrollment, and instructor qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field is generally required. Additional qualifications may be required depending on the subject area and applicable accreditation standards.

PEP adjunct faculty teaching in DOCCS or OCFS facilities may be subject to a comprehensive background check, fingerprinting, and a TB test. Additionally, faculty assigned to a DOCCS facility will need to complete volunteer training with the Office of Volunteer Services before they can begin teaching courses.
