Role Responsibilities:

·Manage the Dimensional Engineering deliverables for a portion of the vehicle, including

oDetail project planning and execution

oEngineering Service Supplier performance

oDatum coordination, tooling support locations and assembly sequence development

oVariation analysis review and validation of design concepts

oGD&T specification recommendation to Vehicle Engineers

oEngineering drawing sign-off

·Support product prototype and implementation activities, including

oPart and assembly dimensional buy-off

oSlow build / Match build planning and execution

oVariation analysis validation

oInstallation, tryout, validation and debug of equipment

oAssembly Line dimensional performance confirmation

oDimensional Objective confirmation

·Reporting to stakeholders on progress and issues

·Drive dimensional issue resolution in the Design, Engineering and build phases


Qualifications

Role Requirements:

·Motivated, self-starter, effective in varied team environments. Need to be flexible in occasional irregular work hours to participate in global conference calls depending on the program.

·Working knowledge of the vehicle development best practices, including process and product deliverables.

·Active participation in 3 or more vehicle development cycles.

·Expert in Dimensional Engineering strategies, including coordinated datums, product/process enablers, variation analysis modeling techniques, GD&T strategies

·Mastery of the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard.

·Significant, demonstrated working knowledge of part manufacturing and assembly processes. An understanding of the contribution of these processes to finished vehicle dimensional requirements, including component, weld shop, paint and general assembly influences.

·High-level presentation and communication skills for providing program status, issue resolution, and roadblock removal.

·Experience working with engineering service suppliers to meet program deliverables on time and within scope.

·Willingness to travel internationally to support program objectives and key build activities.

·High proficiency in usage of many computer software applications: Catia, 3DCS, MS Office, etc.
