About this role
Acoustic Emissions Technician
This position is responsible to perform Acoustic Emission (AE) and Ultrasonic (UT) testing in accordance with recommended inspection practices covering pressure vessels used for distribution of industrial gasses. Training is necessary and will be provided by Weldship. Testing performed within this position will include pressure vessels (tubes) of various size and shape that are mounted to containers and trailers. Work performed by this position must achieve the highest level of accuracy.
Job Duties:
- Receive trailers for retest.
- Understanding of work scope and work order.
- Prepare trailers for retest.
- Prepare test file and reports.
- Perform AE/UT test.
- Understand and accept training to operate nitrogen high-pressure fill system.
- Communicate effectively, in written and verbal formats, with engineering, management, and production personnel to accomplish testing process.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Previous work in a manufacturing environment, 2+ years.
- Mathematical knowledge.
- Computer skills.
- Understanding and use of tools.
- Ability to travel.
