AGV Engineer

About the Role

BYD THAILAND is looking for an AGV Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of AGV systems within our manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Install, commission, maintain, and monitor the daily operation of AGV systems.

• Plan and optimize AGV routes, stations, traffic control, and operating logic.

• Troubleshoot AGV electrical, control, communication, and mechanical issues.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

• Coordinate AGV integration with PLC, MES, WMS, conveyors, and other automation systems.

• Analyze AGV capacity, cycle time, utilization, and quantity requirements.

• Support new AGV projects, including system planning, equipment selection, installation, testing, and acceptance.

• Improve AGV efficiency, system stability, equipment utilization, and logistics performance.

• Develop and maintain AGV-related SOPs, inspection standards, preventive maintenance plans, and troubleshooting records.

• Provide technical support and training to Production, Logistics, and Maintenance teams.

• Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to resolve AGV-related issues and ensure successful project implementation.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of experience in AGV systems, automation equipment, material handling systems, or related engineering fields.

• Experience in AGV installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system operation.

• Knowledge of PLC, sensors, servo motors, electrical control systems, and industrial communication.

• Experience with Mitsubishi or Siemens PLC is preferred.

• Knowledge of AGV route planning, traffic control, charging systems, and fleet scheduling.

• Experience with MES, WMS, conveyors, or automation system integration is an advantage.

• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication, teamwork, and cross-functional coordination skills.

• Good command of English for technical communication.

• Chinese language skills are an advantage.
