Position Summary
The Anesthesiologist is responsible for the perioperative care of patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures requiring anesthesia services. This role includes the evaluation and management of patients before, during, and after anesthesia, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations, including medical history review, physical examination, and risk assessment
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans
- Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiologic status throughout procedures
- Manage airway, ventilation, hemodynamics, and fluid balance during anesthesia
- Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management
- Respond to perioperative emergencies and complications
- Collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, nurses, and anesthesia care team members
- Supervise and provide medical direction to CRNAs, anesthesiology assistants, and trainees as applicable
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and compliance initiatives
- Adhere to all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Anesthesiology
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility
- ACLS and BLS certification

- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient monitoring
Requirements
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
