About this role

About the Project

DataForce by TransPerfect is looking for American Sign Language (ASL) and Black American Sign Language (BASL) signers across the United States to participate in a paid remote research project.

The goal of this project is to help make technology more accessible for everyone and promote greater inclusion of Deaf and signing communities in the development of future technologies.

Their perspectives help us make informed decisions, advocate for the interests of the community, and ensure that accessibility, cultural considerations, and participant experience are represented throughout the project.

Participants will record approximately 1,000 short ASL/BASL videos from home, including phrases, numbers, fingerspelling sequences, and conversational prompts.

Each recording is approximately 10 seconds long. Completing the full set is expected to take approximately 10 hours in total.
